Licorice Root
Licorice Root
Licorice is classified as an adaptogen, immune amphoteric and anti-inflammatory (see properties below) and benefits the adrenal HPA axis function and sympathoadrenal system SAS. It has been a standard in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over 3000 years and has a Superior herb classification. Most inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis, crohn's disease and leaky gut syndrome are due to an autoimmune issue. The ability of adaptogens to modulate and either increase or reduce immune system response as needed, along with licorices anti-inflammatory properties make it indispensable for autoimmune issues.
