Lavender
Lavender
Lavender is a nootropic herb (smart drug), nervine antidepressant and carminative (digestive aid). Most of us think of Lavender for its aromatic properties (see essential oils) to calm our emotions or improve sleep quality which is does quite well. We typically use Lavender extracts to aid digestion and treat depression caused by a traumatic episode (death, loss of job etc.).
See Adaptogenic Blends and Medicinal Teas for formulas using Lavender as a complementary nootropic and nervine.
